The Long Island Regional Student Support Services Center (LIRSSSC) is a regional office of the New York State Education Department. The purpose of the center is to build the capacity of schools and communities to provide supportive learning environments to all students affording them the opportunity to become successful, contributing, and compassionate adults. The LIRSSSC serves school districts and communities in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

 The Student Support Services Center offers programs to all Long Island school districts on a fee-for-service basis. The Center can customize professional development opportunities to meet school or district needs. Speakers, workshop leaders, and technical assistance providers are available for:
  • supportive learning environments
  • positive youth development
  • SAVE violence prevention certification training (monthly)
  • safe & drug free schools
  • health education
  • HIV/AIDS
  • school nursing/health services
  • tobacco policy & programs
  • physical activity & nutrition
  • PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies)
